Oil and Gas Tools

oil tools

We provide tubes in different steel grades used as components in oilfield devices.

We produce a wide range of hot-rolled and cold-drawn seamless tubes in different steel grades (4130 and 4140) used in the oil and gas industry as components of complex well drilling and maintenance devices, including:

  • Perforating guns
  • Sand screens
  • Downhole drill motors

The steels used for these applications guarantee high resistance to yield strength and tight dimensional tolerances.

One of the most critical applications in this sector is carrier tubing which is used at the heart of perforating guns, the devices that perforate oil and gas wells in preparation for production using explosive charges. This product is a joint development between end users and Tenaris, which has designed a product specifically based on customer needs, including tailor-made chemistry and process design.

For this demanding application, we provide low alloyed, quenched and tempered steel tubes guaranteeing high performances in terms of high yield strength combined with high toughness and tight internal diameter tolerances. Our tubes also provide high impact resistance during explosive charge detonation, maintaining their structural integrity as well as that of the entire perforating system.
